Service Description

What are Malas? Malas have been around for thousands of years and are deeply rooted in the Yogic tradition. A Mala is a garland of 108 strung beads and has been historically used as a powerful companion tool for meditation. Because of how beautiful malas are, people today wear them as jewelry - either as a necklace or bracelet - but my intention is to use a combination of specific semi-precious gemstones to support the wearer's needs. This way, when wearing it, the mala will resonate with it's intended owner in a more profound, intentional way. The Process (usually takes around 2 weeks): 1. Choosing the beads: Each gem/crystal/semi-precious stone - just like plants and herbs - has its own set of characteristics and healing properties. I like to pair the stones with whatever the wearer needs to amplify in their life - relaxation, compassion, courage, etc. 2. Cleansing and Blessing the Mala: Once the Mala is finished, I perform my own little ritual of cleansing and blessing. This ritual consists of clearing all energy that does not serve my home, myself, or the intended wearer of the Mala. This is done by burning sage and releasing the smoke on and around the Mala. 3. Once this energy is released, I perform Reiki on the mala. What is Reiki? The last step before delivering your new Mala is performing Reiki on it. Reiki is a beautiful and safe method of energy healing that has been practiced for thousands of years. My lineage is Usui Reiki, where we are taught to hold space for life energy to flow through us and unto the person or object we are "treating."
